It's all in your head...

If someone tells you ‘you can’t ‘ - turn around and say ‘watch me’! This sentence has always been important to me as having a challenge is what motivates me most - and nothing is more challenging then someone telling me ‘you can’t do this’. But when the podiatrist at the hospital in July told me, that I won’t be able to run anymore due to the state of my foot, I had a hard time getting my mind to focus on the challenge that lies within these words. He caught me off guard and massively unsettled me. It took me a couple of days to pick myself up, dust off my shoulders and look ahead. I decided: I. WILL. PROVE. HIM. WRONG. Unfortunately I can’t afford second opinions (the achilles is not covered by my insurance), endless physio or fancy treatments but I can work hard and rest even harder 😉. By now I’ve probably read everything that has ever been written about insertional tendinopathy and plantar fasciitis (yep, I’m the lucky owner of both 😬) and I know the drill. I know which exercises I have to do, how to react when it flares up and how to judge the amount of training I can do. It might take a looooong time and I might have many setbacks to overcome but I can and I will do this. WATCH ME!
